Largest Single-Asset Cannabis Facility Financing
Lotus arranged a $55 million loan for what is known as the largest single-asset cannabis real estate financing ever completed in the United States. The asset consisted of a 441,000 square-foot mixed-use industrial development project sits on 10-acres of real estate on an irreplaceable in-fill bayfront location on the Western shore of the San Francisco Bay in Oakland, CA.
The purpose-built cannabis facility offers the unprecedented opportunity to reach one of the largest cannabis markets in the world, with a population base of 10 million residents – faster than any other cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, or logistics facility in North America.
Underscoring the firm’s global access, Lotus utilized its global rolodex of capital sources to place the loan with an international lender that had previously capitalized several of the largest publicly traded cannabis operating companies through their real estate assets. The new lending partner was able to provide off-market pricing and leverage due to their strong visibility into cannabis industry allowing them to understand the intrinsic value associated with the underlying collateral.
